Orange Line Lotus Publishing

Orange Line Lotus Publishing is a creative venture born from my desire to fill the holes that

were present during my childhood as a young black kid growing up in the inner city. My books

focus on nurturing emotional and mental well being through colorful and fun storytelling; making

simple the things that can be very complex for children to digest. I write, illustrate and self

publish. Each book is designed to be both imaginative and therapeutic, offering children tools to

better understand themselves and the world around them.

In addition to these things, I also do in person readings at schools and community

organizations. At these readings, I create space for children to actively engage with the content

of each book being read, encouraging them to deepen their connection not only to the stories,

but also to themselves.

The vision is to expand Orange Line Lotus into a hub for emerging authors, providing guidance,

knowledge and mentorship on the publishing process. In the same way that my books simplify

complex emotions for children, I want to simplify the process of writing a book and going from

an idea to an in hand product.

Mission and Vision:

At Orange Line Lotus Publishing, the mission is to create children’s books that center

emotional and mental well being as well as increased self-awareness through fun characters

and colorful storytelling. Each book is designed to be eye-catching but beyond that, it’s created

and written in a way that connects to the very delicate and sensitive emotional space in

developing young children. The books are meant to encourage conversations around feelings,

confidence, identity, teamwork and connection.

In addition to the product being offered, Orange Line Lotus also offers the service of in person

readings and interactive experiences that create safe spaces where children can feel seen,

heard, and inspired. The interactive experiences allow the children to apply what they've

learned in the book in a real and tangible way.

Finally, Orange Line Lotus is committed in its mission to supporting aspiring authors, particularly

those who also have a focus on well being through guidance, mentorship, illustration support,

and publishing assistance.

The long term vision of Orange Line Lotus Publishing is to build a diverse and expansive library

of books that support the well being of both young children and their caregivers. Through

thoughtful and engaging storytelling along with vibrant imagery, these books aim to provide

tools for emotional growth and serve as conversation starters between children and their

caregivers. Another aspect of the long term vision for Orange Line Lotus is develop software

that empowers anyone, regardless of prior experience, to create, illustrate, and publish their
